ABOUT THE PROGRAM

At the February luncheon, Mr. Allevato will discuss:

·   The History and Planning for the Orange County Great Park

·   Pictorial tour of the Orange County Great Park and overview of major elements in the Park

·   The first phase of 200 Acre, $65M Park Development Plan that is currently underway

·   Current programming at the Orange County Great Park, including the upcoming Great Skate, Cirque du Soleil, Summer programming, and much more

 

ABOUT THE SPEAKER

Mr. Sam Allevato is the Public Information Officer for Orange County Great Park Design Studio. He is also the City Councilman and former Mayor of San Juan Capistrano. His primary duty at the Great Park Design Studio is to manage Communications for the Design Team. This includes media relations, interaction with the various stakeholders of the Park, arranging for tours and presentations on the project and at the park itself, and going “on the road” giving presentations to community groups regarding the project. Mr. Allevato is a retired Irvine police lieutenant (1979-2002). He was born in Clarksburg, West Virginia and moved to California in 1950. Mr. Allevato graduated from California State University, Los Angeles with a Bachelors of Science in Police Science and Administration in 1969. He went on to graduate from the University of Southern California, Los Angeles with a Masters of Public Administration degree in 1976, from P.O.S.T. Command College at Cal Poly Pomona in June of 1989, from the F.B.I. National Academy in 1992 and from Southwest Command College in 1998.
